Solutions to Complex Problems

Those featured in the Summer 2025 WPI Journal are fearlessly tackling giant, complex problems. Elzani van Zyl ’17 MS ’19, PhD ’23, is working to save lives from the ancient disease of malaria; John Stewart ’97 is using AI to tame the combinatorial explosion problem of professional and youth sport scheduling; and faculty and students in the Medical FUSION Lab are using robots to make healthcare more functional.
